Cluster Ecoconstruction

The Ecoconstruction Cluster is the network of companies and experts active in ecoconstruction in Wallonia.

It raises awareness, provides information, represents the sector in dealings with public authorities, and works to promote its economic development. The Cluster brings together more than 270 experts, including architects, companies active in the ecological construction and renovation sector, manufacturers and suppliers of ecological materials, as well as design offices, research centres, colleges and universities. For more than 10 years, the Cluster has been developing eco-construction in Wallonia. It has proved its worth in terms of networking eco-construction players and helping them to develop their skills, the sector's potential for growth and support for eco-construction-related industries.

Every year, the Cluster organises 50 conferences and visits to exemplary sites/buildings/companies. It is present at 3 housing fairs, and regularly publicises its activities in the specialist press and media aimed at the general public. In terms of training, the Cluster runs 40 courses a year for professionals in the sector. By 2023, it will be expanding its reach, particularly to all Walloon universities. The Cluster publishes reference works: a guide to straw construction, technical handbooks, roadmaps, memoranda, etc. Through its effective networking, it facilitates synergies (1 export mission, 2 study trips, 3 networking evenings per year). Among other things, it has created the Produit Biosourcé label (Walloon sector).
